We’re developing AR (Augmented Reality) apps for smart devices to help museums and galleries offer exciting, immersive experiences to visitors.

This is one of our prototypes being tested. It’s an app that shows the interior structure and airflow through a Rolls-Royce Derwent jet engine. The Derwent powered the Gloster Meteor, Britain’s first operational jet fighter.

The AR app is running on an Android tablet and the engine appears when the QR code is scanned. Because the engine is a 3D model, the viewer can look at it from any angle as if it were actually hanging in the air in front of them.
